Welcoming a new baby into the world is one of life’s most transformative experiences—and caring for yourself after birth is just as important as preparing for your little one’s arrival and too often neglected (in my opinion).
At South Coast Placenta, I’m proud to offer a safe, professional, and heart-centred placenta encapsulation service across Hampshire, West Sussex & Dorset*, supporting you during your postpartum recovery journey. But before you choose who to trust with your placenta, you probably want to know a little about who you might be working with—so here’s a little introduction. *Blog post here re where I cover
Who Am I?

I’m Kimberley, the founder and placenta specialist behind South Coast Placenta. Based right here in Hampshire, I’m a qualified placenta encapsulation professional trained to the highest standards of safety and hygiene, with up-to-date certification, and processes that surpass all environmental health guidelines.
I started this business because I saw how incredible placenta remedies could be for new mothers' postnatal experience—supporting hormone balance (and therefore mood), energy, milk supply, and emotional well-being. Now, I get to support other women in our local area with the same care.
I had two very different births and two very different post-birth experiences and the second time around I hugely prioritised my post-natal well-being. Regardless of whether or not you decide to encapsulate your placenta, I hugely recommend you prioritise yourself in other ways. When I'm not working or running around after my two daughters, I spend my time in community activism, mainly around Palestine, refugees and anti-racism (hello injustice sensitivity!) I can also often be found with my nose in a book.
What Is Placenta Encapsulation? A local, Safe, & Professional Service

Placenta encapsulation involves gently steaming, dehydrating, and grinding the placenta into powder, which is then placed into easy-to-take capsules. Read this blog to hear more about the process.
I collect your placenta directly from your birth location (home, hospital, or birth centre), whether you're in Southampton, Portsmouth, Winchester, or surrounding areas across Hampshire, West Sussex & Dorset. I work with local hospitals and midwives to ensure smooth, stress-free handovers—so you can focus on rest and bonding.
While research is still ongoing, the anecdotal experiences from mothers—especially locally—are overwhelmingly positive.
Supporting Mums Post Birth: What Local Mums Are Saying

Wow 🤩 Placenta encapsulation is a must for anyone’s postpartum recovery!
I cannot encompass in one single review just how good these tablets made me feel.
Considering lack of sleep from a newborn and having a 2 year old to run around after, I felt so much more energetic than I anticipated.
My milk came in on day 2 which was sooner than my first baby and my supply has been wonderful.
I have experienced no low mood, tears or anything. The best postnatal gift you can give to yourself or to someone you know expecting a baby. All made even more special by the fact that Kimberley is very attentive and passionate about what she does.
Kimberley is very approachable and makes the process so smooth from first enquiry to delivering the storage bag to collecting the placenta and then we couldn’t quite believe how quickly the pills made their way to me after giving birth so I could start benefiting from them!
I’m actually really quite sad that my pot has almost run out. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart Kimberley, so glad I found you ❤️
